Get It Back
It feels like ages since I've last blogged, but I have seriously been so wrapped up in things that I've hardly had time to jot down the bazillion things swimming around my head. Hopefully this extra-long post will fill all your people in on what's been happening with me recently.

So last month I went on a vacation to India, and might I add, it was a very well-deserved break. My travels included various spots around Kerala and Bombay, and needless to say, I had a great time. Possibly the most disturbing part of the trip though was when I had an upset stomach for a day. Now this wasn't disturbing because I was confined to my bed and the toilet, but I was horrified to find that every person within a 2 mile radius of the house knew that I had an upset stomach. When I got up the next day and asked the driver to take me to a nearby supermarket, the first thing he asked me was how my stomach was, which was kinda nice of him, I guess. But the horror was just about to begin - at the supermarket's checkout (and by 'supermarket' I mean a small grocery store that manages to stock Lipton tea) the checkout lady put two tubs of Yogurt in my basket and rubbed her stomach..basically to mean 'Eat the yogurt and you'll feel better'. I didn't know whether to scream at her, thank her for the concern, or dig a small hole and curl up in it. Later that evening we had a couple of people over (at least 30, but less than 50) and I had all these old grannies come up to me and narrate their various remedies for curing an upset stomach. They ranged from sleeping in another bed to rubbing an onion on my stomach. Again, the hole-digging image flashed through my head.

After my vacation had ended and I touched Dubai soil once more, I had to head to a friend's house in Dubai for 2 weeks while she went on a short vacation herself with hubby dearest - I ended up staying there for an extra week after they came back, just because it was so much easier to get to work, and it was loads of fun in general. Besides giving me a brief glimpse into what my life would be like in my own place, staying there also made me realize what kind of partner I'm going to end up with. I'm pretty sure that once I'm in a steady relationship, I'm going to be the one to stay at home and look after everything, while the husband brings in the cash. Not to mention, I'll be able to catch up on all the soaps I've been missing.
