Fame
In my last post I mentioned I had been interviewed recently. Well, I was interviewed by Best Gay Blogs - a site that keeps a check on the latest gay blogs on the blogsphere. You can read my interview here, but for those who can't access the site, I've pasted the entire interview below - enjoy!

Age:
24

Relationship status:
Single - but hope to change that in 2007!

Career/Industry:
IT & Marketing - I fix computers by day and dream up marketing campaigns during my lunch break! Pretty cool, huh?

Hobbies:
blogging, mall hopping, cooking, reading, SHOPPING, andfaithful hours with my PS2.

Special Skills:
I can spot a bad outfit from 20 feet away. Seriously.

Your "type":
This has changed so much over the years that I'm better off dating a mannequin! My type is a smart successful guy who isn't located an ocean away from me.

Anything interesting about you your readers don't already know:
I've only flown once in my life, and that was 2 years ago. Oh wait...you said interesting? No, nothing interesting that I haven't already blogged about :o)

Tell us about your blog:
'out in my head' actually started as a blog that I created on the spur of the moment. I had already been running two other blogs - one dedicated to my poetry, and one about a local radio station and events happening in Dubai. Although both were good and had a decent amount of attention, they weren't really related to me, so I decided to add another blog to my belt, but this one would be my own personal centre stage. And so, 'out in my head' was born! A lot of people ask me about the title and tagline 'out in my head-straights by appointment only' The title really means that in my head, everyone who is gay is out and proud, and it's the straights who are the ones who get the funny looks.

Birth of blog:
November 7th, 2005

Intended Audience:
Anyone who's got some time to spare for a couple of laughs. The blog has also become a way for guys around the world to get in touch with me about gay life in my region, and I have met some truly wonderful guys thanks to my blog.

Number of daily visitors:
This varies - I've seen anywhere from about 50 to 200 a day, but the 200s usually come when I post saucy pictures of myself. Enough said.

What or who inspired you to start your blog?
I was reading Jim's blog 'One Gay At A Time' and I was so touched at the way he would write about almost everything that was going on in his life, especially the way he chronicled his growing years and the ups and downs in his life. Plus, he posts pics of super hunky men with each post!

If you could sum up your blog in one sentence, what would it be?
Gay drama for the masses.

If you had unlimited time, budget and staff, how would you change your blog?
I would definitely add a video section or even a pod cast. Due to time restraints, these are luxuries I can't think about at the moment, so it's simple text blogs for the time being.

How much time a week do you spend on your blog?
I usually spend a couple of hours putting my thoughts together on different days of the week, and saving it all in one draft post. Then I comb through it to make it readable and flow smoothly, and post it up.

How many blogs do you read weekly? What are your top 5 favorite?
Hmm, well here they are in no particular order:

1) One Gay At a Time -
http://www.onegayatatime.com/ - great writing and fab pics!
2) Baan's Spot - http://shebanx.blogspot.com/ my best friend's blog...he's a cutie, so I forgive the horrible grammar.
3) UAE community Blog - http://uaecommunity.blogspot.com/ updates about what's happening in the region
4) The Open Space - http://wicked-danu.livejournal.com/ an excellent gay blog by another friend of mine
5) Dubtown lady http://dubtownbrat.blogspot.com/ - this lass has a wit almost as good as mine!

Tell us about the future:
Well, the future finally sees me going on vacation a lot more! I have a long list of places I'd like to visit, so travel is definitely in the cards for me. I do intend on migrating to Canada, but I have yet to really sit and think about this. The future can bring whatever it wants to...I'm waiting! :)

Give us some coming attractions on your blog:
Possibly a picture gallery and an updated template. Oh and video/podcasts if I ever get around to doing them!

What do you see different in your life 2 years from now?
Moving to a new apartment and hopefully not be single!

I'm in your top 5?! Suhhweet! Thanks darlin - almost makes me wish I hadn't taken a break from blogging so soon. Love you for the mention.

Not in a good mood right now. Just spent an hour on timeouttickets trying to score Russell Peters tickets. That site is a complete load of shite. I want to go past theirs and Midas' office and throw some rotten eggs at the windows. grrr....
